Some of the rockers who took the stage in October for the inaugural San Jose Rocks concert at History Park will make an encore appearance next week, and wait until you see their footwear.
San Jose Rocks is holding a benefit bowling tournament with a silent auction at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at 300, the upscale bowling alley formerly known as Oakridge Lanes in South San Jose.
The bands -- including the Count Five, Dredge, Insolence, Syndicate of Sound, the Groove Kings and the New Arrivals -- will face off against members of the media, including familiar faces and voices from Bay Area radio stations, newspapers and magazines. They're calling it an "exhibition," but I know the media's bringing its "A" game.
Admission is $15 at the door and includes light refreshments.
